P.S Love To Glow Face Mask Review

Hey Ladies,

So not too long ago I seen my Twitter and Facebook timeline blow up with people talking about the new Penney's P.S Love To Glow skincare range comparing certain items from the range to huge name brands like Glamglow. So naturally enough I picked up the most coveted item the Face Mask to try it for myself and see what all the hype is about. So to start off with this mask is €3.50 which won't break the bank by any means, the packaging is glass and quite heavy which you wouldn't expect for that price.

The mask claims to be a "rich luxurious, exfoliating face mask to help smooth, soften and brighten dull tired skin". It smells suspiciously strongly of lemon or a similar scent that I can't quite place my finger on. The texture is lightweight, creamy and has small grains of what feels like sand but is pumice. Once it is applied you are supposed to wait 10 or so minutes for it to dry and you will see by the picture below that it dries down to a light brown veil of product over the skin. As you are wearing it doesn't feel tight or uncomfortable on the skin although if you are in anyway sensitive this may tingle. After you have washed it off your skin feels fantastically soft and smooth. In terms of removal it was super quick and easy to remove this mask whereas some other masks can be very messy and difficult to remove.
Let's have a look at some of the ingredients:
Water (obvs.)
Kaolin (beneficial to oily skin, deep cleans pores, purifies and helps improve cell renewal)
Shea Butter (stimulates collagen and hydrates)
Cetearyl Alcohol (A good alcohol that helps with softening the skin)
Glycerin Stearate (Slows water loss in the skin and softens the skin)
Aloe Leaf Juice (Improves the appearance of dry skin)
Glycerin (Prevents loss of water from the skin)
Fragrance (May irritate sensitive skins or acne prone skins)
Argan Oil (Conditions the skin)
Pumice (to exfoliate and remove dead skin)
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E which is very low down on ingredients list!)

So all in all the mask was alright and for €3.50 Penney's didn't cheapen out on the ingredients. Personally as someone with a dry skin this mask isn't for me as the pumice is too abrasive. It's grand though, I certainly wouldn't compare it to the likes of Glamglow but it would do if you are a normal to oily skin type looking for a mask to use once a week! I hope you found this review helpful and it also gave you a little more insight into ingredients too!

Suzie Q Reviews: PS Love This.. Make Up Fixing Spray

Hey Ladies,

If you have been following me on Snapchat I have been sharing new products as I get them, demos and first impressions. But I am saving the full review for the blog so you will hear it here first! Last month I picked up this setting spray in Penneys on a whim, it caught my eye on a shelf and I had just run out of my beloved MUFE Mist and Fix (review here). Costing a mere €2.50 sure why not give it a bash, I couldn't pass up a deal that good.

So I have been trying it out for the past month and I have to say I really like it, the market is flooding with setting sprays at the moment as they become the new "it" beauty product and of course Penneys was on the ball. The idea behind this spray is to prolong your makeup by fixing it into place. It comes in an aerosol can which to be honest isn't the most attractive packaging and the spray nozzle is a bit crap because it doesn't spray evenly so you will need a few sprays to cover your whole face.

The texture of the product is a bit strange and hard to explain, when you spray it onto your face it comes out like a spray but feels like you have sprayed foam or bubbles on your skin. It only takes a second or two to dry and you're good to go. One piece of advice is try not spray this onto your lips as you will taste it throughout the day and it isn't the most pleasant taste, so try avoid that.

Does it work? Yes, I have tried it out with many different variations of foundations, concealers, powders and primers and regardless of what's on my face it lasts quite well through the day. In comparison to the likes of MAC, NYX or Makeup Forever the packaging and texture are complete polar opposites but you are basically getting the same product for a fraction of the price. If you are passing your local Penneys I would pick one up just to have handy for the likes of a night out!

Have you tried this product or something similar? Would you bother with a setting spray or just stick to a primer?

Ta Hun Sure It's Only Penney's: Lip Pencil Edition

Hey Ladies,

I swear for the last two months I have been on the biggest lipstick binge, as if I need anymore lipsticks... honestly like a hole in the head. But I just can't help myself but thankfully my latest two faves only cost €1.50 each so it's not going to break the bank or leave me feeling guilty.

I swear Penney's is just getting better by the day, the clothes are on trend and the home ware is to die for and their latest beauty range is making headlines everywhere so naturally enough I tottered down to Penney's to see what the fuss was about. I was hearing reports that one of their lip pencils was a dupe for MAC Spice and by golly it is. Think Spice and Soar mixed but for a fraction of the price, sure you wouldn't even get a cup of tea for that much!
Anyways, the lip liners are part of their new P.S Love range and there are a few colours but I only picked up the nude and the plum. Now if someone said Penney's brought out makeup I would have thought "you get what you pay for" and the quality would be rubbish but surprisingly enough these liners are giving MAC a run for their money, they are far more covetable than the Kylie Jenner effect on Soar earlier this year, these Penney's lip liner have been out of stock for AGES. That's saying something.
I have been putting them to the test in terms of quality of colour and durability and so far they're doing brilliant. The quality of pigment is opaque so there's no need to have to pile a whole load on and they last quite well. Now, if you're eating you will need to reapply afterwards but so far they've held up really well. Since testing them I couldn't tell you how many compliments I have gotten. In fact preparing for this post I wore the plum shade today (how similar to MAC Rebel is this!) and so many people asked what I had on, one friend of mine actually said "I bet its MAC!" and I said no actually it's Penney's and she was shocked!

So there you have it and just a side not my favourite thing I love about these pencils is that I can bring them on a night out or away with me and not be afraid to lose them!

Tell me have you tried any of the Penney's makeup and what did you think?

Suzie Q Reviews: Ta Hun, Penney's!

Hey Ladies,

I love a good browse in Penney's as much as the next person but I ALWAYS leave with stuff I don't need - Splurgy Sue strikes again. Thankfully this time I had a good excuse, its for the blog. That sentence constantly gets me out of a pickle.

The last time I was in Penney's I spotted that they had added to their "PS Love This' range. I have never actually tried any of their makeup items so I'll hold my comments until I do but I am constantly picking up their eye lashes whenever I'm in Penney's. There lashes range from natural to RuPaul-esque so they have you covered for every occasion. My favourite pair are the Double Trouble lashes and they cost only €2! I know, right?! I also picked up some individuals for my kit.

I also spotted the Makeup Brush Cleanser which I've seen being mentioned on Twitter a couple of times. It's alright not the worst in the world. It doesn't have an offensive scent and doesn't dry out brush hairs which is essential if you've put money into your brush collection. It's perfect for spot cleaning, beginners or people who are just too darn lazy to properly clean their brushes (I have a super detailed post on how to wash brushes here). In all honesty though if you pass one by I would pick it up for only €2.50 its a handy one to have lying around and it's not going to break the bank.

Also, how CUTE is the stationary in Penney's at the moment. I'm a well organised Bridie these days with my to-do lists and weekly planner. It makes my desk look like something off Pinterest.

So let me know in the comments what you think about the Penney's makeup rang. Have you tried it? What should I pick up next time I'm in store....c'mon enable me!

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Hey Ladies,

Well Halloween has come and past and now all we are thinking about is Christmas (unfortunately I'm more or a Halloween girl). The weather is getting colder and soon no doubt we will be inundated with snow. I have been updating my wardrobe to keep up with the weather, I want to be really cosy but when I take off my winter coat to be still (if I am) fashionable!

 Boots- Penney's/Primark
Dress- Asos
Belt- Urban Outfitters
Tights- Penney's

Winter boots are an essential in any winter wardrobe, pair them with tights and a pretty dress and your sorted till spring! The tights I am wearing are lined on the inside with the cosiest material and I can wear thick fuzzy socks on my pinkies and no one will be able to tell. All you need to do now is throw on a knit jumper and a warm coat, not forgetting scarf, gloves and a cute hat and your ready for what the winter weather has in store for us!

Until next time.
Love,
S
